Terraform State Handbook is original, provider-neutral guidance. It is not a HashiCorp product pack.

Remote state plus locking is the default. Local terraform.tfstate is for throwaway experiments.

The agent metadata never executes terraform.

Intended use

A deterministic lookup layer for Terraform state and collaboration patterns.

Out of scope

Does not run Terraform, access cloud credentials, or force-unlock a remote backend. Commands are described for a human to run.
